I’m a writer and journalist living in Dublin, Ireland with my husband, a photographer and a particularly insane cat.

I’ve been involved in journalism for over ten years and the day job involves following murder trials as a court reporter.  I also write and am at the moment frantically trying to get my first non fiction book finished so it can be on the shelves later this year.

My first love as a writer though is fiction and I’m hoping to get started on a new urban fantasy (god I hate all these genre labels)  I’m also halfway through the second book in a trilogy of satirical fantasies (I deal with more than enough reality at work) the first of which is sitting in a drawer while I decide just how much rewriting it needs.

Living with a photographer we’ve always got lots of camera equipment knocking around but given the choice I’ll stick with my former soviet union film cameras for taking black and white photos the old fashioned way. I love wandering with my 1955 Zorki – looking at the world without words for once gives me a different viewpoint.

That’s interesting! My dad took many B&W pictures of me when I was little with one of those vertical fold Russian cameras where you look down into the viewfinder. The photos that came out are amazingly quaint looking. It’s been discarded since then, since it was difficult to repair. Sad that.
